New Hope Kids - Hope Kids Buddy
As a NHK Hope Kids Buddy you will have some of the most fun and learning moments of your life as you enter the unique world of a special needs student. They discover God in different ways and get to explore the love He has for them through YOU! Your relationship will allow each of them to know their Creator and that He loves them and wants to know them.
Your Primary Responsibilities include:
• Working along side the students & families for inclusion in class.
• Have a working knowledge of all safety procedures when working with special needs students.
• Be flexible as students do not always desire to follow a set lesson plan. Be positive & encouraging.
• Focus on the one-to-one relationship
• Pray for your families & students.
• Treat students & families the same respect you would a typical family. Always be positive and encouraging. Listen to the families concerns and needs. Remembering the person is not the special need.
• Be attentive and on time. Our families sometimes have unusual schedules or due to needs require extra care and attention. Your punctuality is vital.
• Assist in inviting others to volunteer along side you!
